Salvation is an important decision
Separation of humankind from christ
God desires to have a personal relationship with all of us. But because of sin, we have a separation from close fellowship with God. Sin can be defined as man’s shortcomings and failure to live up to the standards of God’s holiness and righteousness. None of us are holy; we are all sinners. Romans 3: 10 reminds us, “There is none righteous, no, not one.”
None of us can reach heaven on our own. Romans 3: 23 says, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Good works will not get us to heaven. Nothing can ensure our eternal home in heaven apart from God’s salvation. God’s mercy allows us to have close fellowship with Him. Ephesians 2: 8-9 says "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
Jesus died on a cross for our sins
God sent His only Son, Jesus, in order to bear the sins of the world so that man would have a way to go to Heaven. Jesus paid the price for all your sins. He bore the sins of the entire world so that you can go to Heaven when you die. Jesus suffered and died on a cross and was crucified on Calvary's hill by those He came to save. But this was the way it had to be. Jesus came to this earth knowing His destiny. Yet he obeyed God the Father's will. He died on that cross after suffering great torture, humiliation, and agony.
the story didn't end there
Satan and the Roman soldiers thought they had won when Jesus died and was buried. For three days, the world thought darkness had won. But three days later, Jesus rose from the dead, triumphant over death, hell, and the grave. His resurrection is a picture of our salvation in Christ through Him.
it's up to you
Jesus will save all those who have a desire to come to Him. John 1: 12 "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name."
Romans 3: 23 says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Follow the below steps in order to ensure your salvation:
- Admit you are a sinner. 1 John 1: 9 says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
- Believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and His death paid the penalty for your sins.
- Confess the Lord Jesus as your Savior.
If you want to accept Jesus as your Savior, pray this simple prayer:
"Lord Jesus, I admit I'm a sinner. I believe that you died for me to forgive my sins. I'm asking you to come into my heart and save me. In Jesus' name, amen."
